Dr. Tina Jackson
Jackson is well-known in social service and academic circles for her vitality and commitment to youth development and mentorship. Currently, Dr. Jackson is Associate Dean of Science Technology Engineering & Math (STEM) at East field College in the Dallas County Community College District. Tina worked as the statewide coordinator of Community College Programs at the University of Texas at Austin from 2013-2016. Helping to redesign developmental math through out all 50 community colleges in the state of Texas. In 2013, Tina was named a Jackson Scholar by the University Council for Educational Administration. In 2012, Jackson was awarded a Community College Leadership Fellowship from the University of Texas at Austin. In 2012, she also received an award from the Association for the Study of Higher Education to continue her research on STEM Workforce Development in Community Colleges focusing on students of color. Jackson is a former Professor, Department Chair and Dean of Academic Affairs. She has worked at the University of Minnesota as Director of STEM Undergraduate programs, Minneapolis Community & Technical College as a Professor, Department Chair and Dean of Academic Affairs. Tina has also worked at Metropolitan State University, Mankato State University and Minneapolis Public Schools as a faculty member and administrator. Dr. Jackson holds a Bachelor’s Degree In Science, a Master’s Degree Education from the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mr. Paul Day
Paul Day is a full-time Instructor of Geology at Eastfield College, where he teaches Earth Science, Environmental Science, and Physical Geology. Professor Day holds a M.S. in Geology from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), has completed four years of doctoral work at UCLA in Geology, holds a B.S. in Geology from UCLA, and an A.S. in Natural Sciences from Riverside City College.
Primarily a field geologist, Professor Day has participated in research projects in Mongolia, Mexico, and California which focused on earthquake risk, environmental hydrogeology, climate change, and landscape evolution brought about by plate tectonic processes. Prior to coming to Eastfield College, Professor Day taught earth and physical science classes at UCLA, CSULB, Hawaii Community College, College of the Redwoods, Mt. San Jacinto Community College, and Collin College.
When not teaching, Mr. Day enjoys traveling, playing the trumpet, and playing with his children.
Dr. Saeed Ahmad
Dr. Ahmad believes in commitment to excellence in student centered teaching, to public higher education and to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity. His research is focused on sources of renewable energy, particularly on the design and construction of the microbial fuel cells and solar cells.
